Travel by comfortable bus from Tromsø to a candle-lit Sami camp, where you feed a herd of around 300 reindeer, meet herders, and eat salmon, bidos, and chocolate cake. Guides such as Inga, Ulle, Isat, and Thor share Sami stories and perform joik. Aurora sightings are possible but never promised.

“After a busy day, this was the perfect trip to unwind and feed some reindeer. We were welcomed by the Northern Lights and had a brief introduction along with safety tips before seeing the reindeer. It was magical feeding the reindeer until the lights. There were many hot drinks available whilst eating salmon salad, bidos and chocolate cake in a warm hut. We finished the trip with a wonderful talk around a fire where we learnt about Sami people, the reindeer, and joined in on Sami joik. It was an absolutely wonderful time!”

“It was good overall we saw the aurora after 2 + hours of waiting. The host was nice there was about 20 people that spoke his language to most of the time he was giving them his attention. We ask several times to dime the lights without him doing so. The aurora was out it was extremely cold so we wanted to take some pictures inside as well. But he was more about getting a picture outside when we could have been viewing the Aurora. We felt very rushed. The Aurora was beautiful the cabin was warm and plenty of snacks and hot coffee and hot chocolate.”

“This tour is very different from the typical aurora chase. Instead of spending most of the night driving between locations, we stayed primarily at the lodge, which made the experience calm and comfortable. We could step outside when the lights appeared and then return indoors to warm up, have hot chocolate, and relax. The lodge setup works especially well for groups, as people can sit together, chat, and wait for the aurora in a cozy setting rather than standing in the cold. It felt unhurried and well thought out, and is a great option for anyone who prefers a more laid back and social Northern Lights experience.”
